Back From Paris

I have now been back home from Paris for just over a week.

Most definitely one of the most unique and amazing experiences I’ve ever been involved in.

The people of Versailles were literally the most friendly people (accept maybe the one coffee lady 🤣)

The other teams all spoke to each other, the stewards were all working with you not against.

Rules were in place and managed in a respectful and polite way.

My French wasn’t hugely expansive but translate app was super helpful!!

our staging venue was very nice and that’s where our little groom family grew 💖😊

The team was incredible

The horses just dealt with such an insane environment exceptionally well!

The 24hr boat was a little rough in dear storm Lilian 🤣

The stamina in reaching the test event was testing.

The food was average but not hugely practical for a groom as it was a sit down meal needless to say I didn’t eat there I just snacked!

Our support crew were great

The stabling was big and spacious

The forage was lovely

I walked a lot of steps a day

Our team kit stood out for sure ✔️ however some waterproof trainers would be a very good choice for future events.

The swaps and the pins were very cool!

The weather changeable but perfect 🤩

Absolutely blessed and learnt so much on a human level, a teamwork level and a huge environment level.

My biggest takeaway…. VALUE!!

I now have a much better understanding of my value both at home and away.

I now know I’ve earnt my right to have my own business and more than proved my place with in our team and our little show family.

My job is horse carer, mental support, equilibrium finder, adult, time keeper, organiser, horse braider and preparer, friend, confidant, de-compression specialist and much more ……
